Why "AbsolutLaney" you might ask? I've collected Absolut vodka ads for some time. I think the ad campaign was innovated and memorable, probably one of the best of our times. It's timeless and immediately recognizable. Plus this is an ID that is never taken by someone else, so I grabbed up all the accounts I could with it on there.
Here's me in a nutshell (how did I get into this bloody great big nutshell!?):
Born and raised in southcentral Kansas. My high school had about 100 people, my graduating class had about 30. I graduated in 2000 and began my fall semester at Wichita State University. In January of that freshman year, I left for Spain to live on the southwest coast (El Puerto de Santa Maria) for about 8 months. I returned to the States in July 2001 and moved in with my best friend in Oklahoma City. An ex-boyfriend of mine and I met online when I was living in Spain and he was living in Louisiana. In 2002 he came to visit on his way to move to Colorado. Those plans never panned out, and he wound up staying in OKC until 2003 when we both decided to move. We came to Lawrence and lived together until December 2005 when we decided to go our separate ways. I'll be graduating in May 2007, then possibly on to grad school in California (looking at UCLA).
Yes, it's like one of those terrible e-mail surveys that get sent around WAY too often. But now you'll know everything you ever wanted to (and maybe some things you didn't!)

Started playing alto sax in 5th grade, moved on to bass clarinet and bari sax in jr. high and high school. I played with WSU's symphonic band and jazz II ensemble. I tried KU's concert band, but didn't have time to really pursue it. |
Academically speaking... |
I am an undergrad psych major at the University of Kansas. I graduated high school in 2000, so I'm rather behind, but I am a double anthropology/psychology major and will have 2 degrees by the time it's all said and done. Originally, I thought I might want to pursue a private practice concentrating on sex therapy, but lately I've been considering something in the hard sciences related to medicine or genetics. Not all quite sure how that's going to pan out yet. Even though I'm not as far along as I possibly could me on my timeline, I do not regret the way things have gone at all. The opportunities that I've had to establish relationships with the faculty at KU have been invaluable and would not have occurred had I been there for only 2 years. |
